Day 6: Estella - Los Arcos

Today’s stats: 15 miles/1200 ft elevation. Easy day of vast blue skies. We hiked to the backdrop of rolling hills, vivid green wheat fields and picturesque villages. It felt as if the fields swaying in the wind were putting on a show dancing in a special greeting for us, the pilgrims.

(too) Soon after we started walking, we found ourselves standing beside the Bodegas Irache Fuente del Vino (wine fountain.) We simply had to fill our empty water bottles with wine, but in truth, even with my new found love of red wine (yes, another change) it was way too early in the day to enjoy the generous gift of free wine.
It is day 6, and I am still amazed by how clean the streets and roadsides on the Camino are with more than 300 people passing thru daily.

I’ve found a new way to make friends. The past 5 days I was like the dancing guy from the music festival - standing alone doing yoga and stretching at every pit stop. But today people started joining me. Stretching in a group is good for the soul.

Today was a day of pure bliss: being able to hike the distance, and ending the day to amazing views from our apartment for the night. The cherry on top - home cooked meal by my one and only. Buen Camino!
